The I Love The 80’s 5K is definitely one of the 5K runs that I enjoy the most throughout the year. It reminds me of the times growing up.

The 1980s were a decade of iconic fashion, hairdos, and music. The hair of girls could not be made fluffy or puffy enough. The hair on guys desired to be longer and straighter. Women wore gorgeous wardrobes with accessories like jelly bracelets, jelly shoes, leg warmers, and shoulder pads to complement their gorgeous hair. Guess jeans and eye-catching neon attire.

With bands like Duran Duran, Motley Crew, Bon Jovi, Metallica, R.E.M., Eurythmics, A-Ha, Wham, and Depeche Mode, the decade began with some iconic music. The event culminated with incredible bands like Guns n Roses, the Beastie Boys, Madonna, and Michael Jackson breaking into the public. Rap music became popular in the 1980s thanks to artists like Run DMC, the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, 2-Live Crew, Slick Rick, and N.W.A. The 80s were such a groundbreaking decade for the music business, and they continue to have a huge impact on music today.
