And let me tell you, that's exactly what we experienced at the inaugural Cupid's Dash in Tradition Square, Port St. Lucie, FL.
Ever notice how the world seems to pause right before a race begins? Standing at Tradition Square with my camera, I watched as runners arrived in waves of red and pink (talk about embracing the Valentine's spirit!). Some bounced on their toes, others adjusted their heart-themed accessories, and a few sneaked in those last-minute stretches. But what really caught my eye was this incredible mix of expressions - from the focused veterans checking their watches to the first-timers sharing excited high-fives. These quiet moments before the starting horn? They're pure gold for capturing the real spirit of race day.

The 10K runners (our early birds!) got to experience Tradition's charm in all its glory. And you know what made this extra special? This was Tradition's first-ever 10K event! The route showcased everything that makes this area unique, including a pass by the upcoming Regional Park. Between you and me, watching the sunrise over the construction site while runners streamed past... that's the kind of moment photographers dream about.
