E5 MOVES for Pace Center for Girls 5K: Making Strides for Change

Sunday morning at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach brought perfect running weather and an even better cause. The annual E5 MOVES for Pace Center for Girls 5K transformed the peaceful park into a hub of activity, energy, and purpose as runners gathered to support young women in our community.

A Race With Real Impact

The E5 MOVES 5K isn't just another weekend run—it's a powerful community effort organized by Element Five Fitness Studio that directly benefits the Pace Center for Girls in Broward County. This annual event has become a springboard for change, with every registration fee and donation going toward academic programs and counseling services for middle and high school girls facing significant challenges.

What makes the Pace Center's work so vital is their approach. They create safe, supportive environments where girls who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect can rebuild confidence, develop healthy relationships, and plan for their futures. The center doesn't just offer help—it offers hope and practical pathways forward.

The Morning Unfolds

As dawn broke over Quiet Waters Park, volunteers were already busy setting up water stations, arranging finish line banners, and organizing registration tables. The park's natural beauty provided a perfect setting, with morning light filtering through the trees and reflecting off the water features that give the park its name.

By 7:00 AM, participants began arriving—some seasoned runners with determined faces, others first-time participants with a mix of nervousness and excitement. Families came together, friends met up in the parking lot, and solo participants quickly found themselves welcomed into the larger community.

Registration moved smoothly thanks to the well-organized Element Five team, who greeted each person with enthusiasm and clear instructions. The pre-race atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as participants pinned on race bibs, stretched, and chatted about their personal connections to the cause.

Community in Motion

The starting line was full with energy as Element Five had everyone ready to run! Their infectious enthusiasm spread through the crowd as countdown began.

Participants surged forward on a course that wound through the most scenic sections of Quiet Waters Park. The well-marked path took runners and walkers along shaded trails, over gentle hills, and past the park's signature water features.

Support Every Step of the Way

The true spirit of the E5 MOVES 5K showed in how nobody ran alone, even if they came by themselves. Volunteers positioned throughout the course offered not just water but encouragement at every turn. "You're doing great!" "Keep it up!" "Almost there!" These simple phrases, delivered with genuine enthusiasm, lifted spirits and kept momentum going.

Element Five staff were everywhere, seemingly able to multiply themselves across the course. They checked on participants, coordinated volunteers, and maintained energy levels with their constant positivity. Their attention to detail was evident in everything from the well-placed directional signs to the perfectly timed water stations.

For those who couldn't participate in person, the event offered a virtual option. These participants received their medals and t-shirts by mail and were encouraged to share their experiences on social media using the hashtag #ElementFiveFitness, creating an extended community beyond the physical event.

Crossing the Finish Line

The finish line area buzzed with activity and emotion. Early finishers cheered on those still completing the course. Families waited eagerly for their runners to appear around the final bend. And that moment when each participant crossed the finish line? Pure joy—whether they sprinted through with competitive fire or walked across with satisfied smiles.

What made this finish line special was how every single person received celebration. The fastest runner got the same enthusiastic welcome as the final walker. Element Five created an atmosphere where personal achievement at any level was valued and recognized.

After crossing the finish line, participants enjoyed a festival-like atmosphere with refreshments, stretching areas, and information booths about both the Pace Center and other community resources. The post-race celebration fostered connections and conversations, with many participants learning more about how they could support the Pace Center year-round.

The Element Five Difference

Of all the events throughout the year, the E5 MOVES 5K really stands out because of the incredible sense of community, encouragement, and enthusiasm that the staff from Element Fitness provides. They don't just organize a race—they create an experience that participants remember long after they've hung up their medals.

The Element Five team knows how to make each person feel valued. They remember returning participants from previous years, offer encouragement tailored to individual needs, and create an atmosphere where strangers quickly become friends united by a common purpose.

Their attention to detail shows in everything from the clear communication before the event to the well-organized packet pickup to the seamless race day experience. We highly recommend them for anyone looking for a fitness community that combines physical achievement with meaningful impact.

The Soundtrack of Success

The second-to-last stretch of the race featured something that adds another layer of energy to this already vibrant event—live music performed by the School of Rock. Year after year, these talented young musicians do an amazing job providing the perfect soundtrack for runners approaching the finish line.

If you're not familiar with School of Rock, they offer performance-based music education for kids. Instead of just learning instruments in isolation, students gain confidence by performing together on stage. Watching these young rockers pump up tired runners with their enthusiastic performances shows exactly what School of Rock is about—building confidence through music and connecting with the community.

Their presence at the event creates a perfect synergy—young people supporting other young people, music motivating movement, and shared passion creating community connections.

Join the Movement Next Year

The E5 MOVES for Pace Center for Girls 5K isn't just a one-day event—it's part of an ongoing movement to support young women in our community. The impact continues long after the last participant has gone home, with funds raised supporting year-round programs that change lives.

If you're inspired by what you've read about this year's event, consider joining next year's E5 MOVES 5K. Whether you run, walk, volunteer, or donate, your participation matters and makes a difference.
